Your adventure begins early with a hotel pick-up around 4:00 am. We’ll transfer you to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you’ll board a scenic train to KM 104, the starting point of the Short Inca Trail. Along the way, take in the spectacular views of the Sacred Valley as the sun rises over the Andes.
Once at KM 104, you’ll meet your guide and begin the 10 km (6.2 miles) hike through lush cloud forests and ancient Inca ruins. One of the highlights is the impressive site of Wiñay Wayna, where you’ll have time to explore and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.
After lunch, the trail continues along the original Inca stone path to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku). Here, you’ll catch your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu from above — a moment you’ll never forget. You’ll then descend slowly to the archaeological site and catch the bus down to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

After an early breakfast at your hotel, you’ll take the first bus up to Machu Picchu to enjoy the mystical citadel in the quiet morning hours. Your expert guide will lead you on a 2-hour guided tour, uncovering the secrets, history, and incredible engineering behind the Lost City of the Incas.
You’ll explore highlights such as the Temple of the Sun, the Main Plaza, Intihuatana (the Solar Clock), and more. After your guided tour, you’ll have some free time to explore the site on your own or opt for an optional hike (such as Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain — permits required).
