Early morning pickup from your hotel. Drive to Mollepata, then continue to Soraypampa (3,900m/12,795ft) where the hike begins. Trek to the stunning Humantay Lake (4,200m/13,780ft). Return to camp in Soraypampa for overnight stay.

🗓 Day 2: Soraypampa – Salkantay Pass – Collpapampa
Begin the day with a hike up to the Salkantay Pass (4,630m/15,190ft) — the highest point of the trek. Enjoy breathtaking views of Salkantay Mountain. Then descend into the warmer cloud forest towards Collpapampa (2,850m/9,350ft).

🗓 Day 3: Collpapampa – Lucmabamba – Hidroelectrica – Aguas Calientes
Trek through the high jungle, passing waterfalls and coffee plantations. Stop in Lucmabamba for a local experience. Continue by van to Hidroelectrica, and then hike or take the train to Aguas Calientes. Overnight in hotel.

🗓 Day 4: Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco
Very early breakfast, then bus to Machu Picchu for a private guided tour of the Lost City of the Incas. Optional hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (subject to availability). Return to Cusco by train and bus.

Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Humantay Lake
Your adventure begins early as we pick you up from your hotel in Cusco around 4:30 am. We drive for about 3 hours to Mollepata, where you’ll enjoy a hot breakfast and meet the rest of the team. From here, we continue to Soraypampa (3,900m/12,795ft), the starting point of our Salkantay Trek.
After lunch, we take a short hike to the stunning Humantay Lake (4,200m/13,780ft), nestled beneath snow-capped peaks. This turquoise glacial lake is one of the highlights of the first day. We return to camp in Soraypampa, where you’ll enjoy a freshly prepared dinner and sleep under the stars.

Day 2: Soraypampa – Salkantay Pass – Collpapampa
After an energizing breakfast, we begin a challenging yet rewarding ascent to the highest point of the trek — the Salkantay Pass (4,630m/15,190ft). From here, you’ll have breathtaking panoramic views of Salkantay Mountain (6,271m/20,574ft), one of the most sacred peaks in the Andes.
We then begin our descent into the cloud forest, with changing landscapes, warmer temperatures, and increased biodiversity. We finish the day at Collpapampa (2,850m/9,350ft), a beautiful area in the high jungle.

Day 3: Collpapampa – Lucmabamba – Hidroelectrica – Aguas Calientes
We continue through the lush Santa Teresa Valley, crossing rivers, passing waterfalls, and walking through coffee and banana plantations. We arrive at Lucmabamba, where you can learn about local coffee production or enjoy an optional coffee tasting.
From here, we take a short van ride to Hidroelectrica, where you can choose to either hike (3 hours) or take a train to Aguas Calientes, the town at the foot of Machu Picchu. You’ll stay in a comfortable hotel and enjoy a group dinner in town.

Day 4: Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco
Today is the highlight of your trek! We wake up early to catch the first bus to Machu Picchu, where you’ll enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of this incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the major temples, terraces, and sacred structures of the Lost City of the Incas.
After the tour, you have free time to explore more or hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (optional, must be booked in advance).
In the afternoon, take the train back to Ollantaytambo, and then a private van to Cusco, arriving in the evening.

What kind of meals are included?
We provide fresh, delicious meals prepared by our professional trekking chefs. The menu includes a variety of Peruvian dishes using local ingredients. We also accommodate dietary needs like vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options upon request. Meals are served in a dining tent with chairs and tables for your comfort.
Will there be electricity or phone signal along the route?
During the trek, there is no electricity or phone signal at the campsites. We recommend bringing a portable charger or power bank for your devices. A full charge before your trek should be enough to last the 4 days. You’ll regain signal and Wi-Fi once you arrive in Aguas Calientes on the last night.
Is drinking water provided?
Yes, we provide safe, boiled drinking water starting after lunch on the first day. You’ll need to bring your own water for the morning hike and have reusable water bottles or a CamelBak ready to refill at each meal stop. Staying hydrated is essential at high altitude.
Do I need to carry my own gear?
No, you won’t have to carry all your gear. We provide a duffel bag and include an extra porter or horse to carry up to 7 kg (15 lbs) of your belongings, including your sleeping bag and mat. You will only carry a daypack with essentials like water, snacks, a jacket, and your camera.
What happens if I get altitude sickness?
Our guides are trained in handling altitude sickness. We carry a first-aid kit and portable oxygen on every trek. It’s also important to listen to your body, drink plenty of water, and avoid alcohol before the trek. For serious symptoms, evacuation plans are in place and your safety is our top priority.
What’s the difference between Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain?
Both are additional hikes within the Machu Picchu sanctuary and offer incredible views.
• Huayna Picchu: The iconic peak seen in most Machu Picchu photos. It’s steep and requires a separate ticket. Very limited spots, so book in advance.
• Machu Picchu Mountain: A less crowded alternative with panoramic views. Less steep but a longer hike.
Neither hike is included in the standard trek and both have extra costs. A guided hike can be arranged upon request.
