Day 1: Cusco – Cachora – Chiquiska
We depart early from Cusco and travel to Cachora, where the trek begins. We hike through the Apurimac Valley, enjoying stunning canyon views before descending to Chiquiska for our first campsite.
Day 2: Chiquiska – Santa Rosa – Marampata
After a hearty breakfast, we descend to the Apurimac River, then climb a challenging trail to Santa Rosa and continue up to Marampata, where we’ll rest with panoramic views of Choquequirao.
Day 3: Marampata – Choquequirao – Marampata
We explore the Choquequirao archaeological site, also known as the “sister city of Machu Picchu.” After a guided tour of its terraces, temples, and ceremonial areas, we return to Marampata for the night.
Day 4: Marampata – Chiquiska – Capuliyoc – Cusco
We hike back through the Apurimac Canyon, ascending to Capuliyoc, where our transportation will be waiting. Return to Cusco in the late afternoon.
Day 1: Cusco – Cachora – Capuliyoc – Chiquiska
Your adventure begins early in the morning as we pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and drive for about 4 hours to Cachora, a small Andean village. After a short break, we continue to Capuliyoc (2,850m / 9,350ft), the starting point of the trek. From here, you’ll enjoy incredible views of the Apurimac Canyon and surrounding snowcapped mountains.
We begin descending along a scenic trail to our first campsite in Chiquiska (1,900m / 6,200ft). Along the way, you’ll spot native plants, hummingbirds, and breathtaking views of the canyon.

Day 2: Chiquiska – Santa Rosa – Marampata
After a nutritious breakfast, we descend for about an hour to cross the Apurimac River. We then face a tough ascent to Santa Rosa (2,100m / 6,900ft), where we take a short break. The trail continues uphill through dry Andean forest, passing small farms and traditional sugarcane distilleries.
After a few more hours of climbing, we reach Marampata (2,950m / 9,680ft), where we are rewarded with spectacular views of Choquequirao and the surrounding peaks. We’ll camp here for the night and enjoy a warm dinner under the stars.

Our expert guide will take you on a full tour of this majestic site, exploring its temples, terraces, ceremonial platforms, and sacred areas still covered in lush vegetation.
After plenty of time for photos and soaking in the energy of this hidden gem, we return to Marampata to relax and enjoy our last night in the mountains.

Our private transportation will be waiting to take us back to Cusco, arriving in the late afternoon.
