After about 3 hours on the road, we’ll arrive at the village of Tinki, where you’ll enjoy a hearty local breakfast. This is a great opportunity to stretch your legs and fuel up for the trek ahead.
We’ll drive a bit further to reach Pacchanta, a small Andean community located at the base of the towering Ausangate Mountain. From here, we begin our scenic hike, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and colorful valleys.
As we hike through the high-altitude terrain, you’ll explore the famous 7 turquoise lakes, each more stunning than the last. These include Azulcocha, Otorongo, Alqacocha, Q’omercocha, Orco Otorongo, China Otorongo, and Pucacocha. Along the way, your guide will explain the geological and cultural significance of each lake, and you’ll have plenty of time for photos and rest.
After visiting all seven lakes, we’ll begin our return hike to Pacchanta. Take in the expansive views of Ausangate Mountain, herds of alpacas, and the peaceful Andean wilderness.
