Day 1: Cusco – Challacancha – Humantay Lake – Soraypampa
We will pick you up early from your hotel in Cusco (around 4:30 a.m.) and drive for approximately 3.5 hours to Challacancha, the starting point of our trek. After a light breakfast and briefing, we begin a gentle uphill hike through the picturesque Andean highlands, taking in stunning views of valleys and snowcapped peaks.
After about 3 hours of hiking, we reach the jewel of the day – the stunning Humantay Lake (4,200 m / 13,779 ft). With its crystal-clear turquoise waters and the imposing Humantay Glacier towering behind, it’s a perfect spot for photos and a moment of peace in nature.
We’ll enjoy lunch with a mountain backdrop before continuing a short walk to our campsite at Soraypampa (3,900 m / 12,795 ft), where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable tent under a star-filled sky. Dinner will be served in our dining tent with views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 2: Soraypampa – Salkantay Pass – Cusco
After an early breakfast, we begin the most challenging but rewarding part of the trek. We ascend gradually toward the majestic Salkantay Pass (4,650 m / 15,255 ft), the highest point of the route. The trail offers 360-degree views of the Andes, including the towering Salkantay Mountain (6,271 m / 20,574 ft), one of the most sacred peaks in Incan mythology.
After reaching the pass, we take time to rest and enjoy the landscape before descending back to Soraypampa for lunch. Our transport will be waiting to take us back to Cusco, arriving around 6:00–7:00 p.m.
